The Danville Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra and musician members are not compensated.
The season includes 4 Saturday night concerts and biennial July 4th concerts. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:30PM. Usually there are no services needed during summer months.

Concert Attire

In order to promote a uniform, professional appearance, all musicians must wear appropriate attire when performing in a DSO concert.

Women
Full length black dress, black blouse/shirt with full length skirt or formal dress slacks. (Full length = ankle/floor length)
Sleeves should be at least cap length, with shoulders covered.
Jewelry, if any, should be minimal and modest.
Black hose and black dress shoes are required.
No fragrances of any sort.

Men
Traditional black tie consisting of;
Black tuxedo coat
Black trousers with a satin side stripe
White shirt
Black bowtie
Black cummerbund or waistcoat (optional)
Black socks and black leather dress shoes
No fragrances of any sort.
