Spring Classical Concert Program
|
On June 1, 2002, members of the Danville Symphony Orchestra gathered on the farm of the McCain Family to help plant an apple orchard in memory of one of their own, Jessica McCain. Jessica, a 21 year old violist, was killed by a drunk driver as she was on the way home from the Symphony's Spring Classical Concert on March 22, 2002. Jessica loved animals and growing things, so this orchard was planted as a remembrance of the plants she loved.
Jessica's father, Phillip, talks to the group before planting begins.
Jim Martin, Dr. Noah Gibson and Leigh Latchum assist in the planting.

Janet Phillips and Jerry Franklin also backfill around one of the new trees.
